Two women in lingerie, embracing each other and promoting the body-positivity trend in fashion.

Do you like yourself? Do you love your body? Do you accept yourself as you are? Do you find your body attractive, regardless of the established beauty canons? Stereotypes have taken over the fashion world and can do a lot of damage in our female heads. In opposition to this is body positivity in fashion.

What if we told you that not only do you deserve to accept your body with its pros and cons, but to love it as such and display it with pride? Yes, let's talk a bit about body positivity in fashion.

What is corporeality?

First things first! Body positivity, or body positivity, is a movement that assumes absolute acceptance of your body along with its assets and imperfections. No matter what size you wear, what size your bust is, or whether you have visible stretch marks and distorted proportions, you love your body and are proud of it.

Body positivity in fashion is a kind of protest against the obsessive creation of the 'ideal' body. We don't idealise a particular figure, we don't promote perfect proportions and we don't praise just one type of figure. We simply love ourselves, it's about self-acceptance. And how are you catering to this trend?

Body positivity in fashion - what's it all about?

It's simple, body positivity in fashion is about thinking positively about your body. It allows us to free ourselves from the tight loops of the unattainable beauty canon for most. Do you know what the consequences of an unbridled struggle for an idealised silhouette can be? Ultimately, it results in mental disorders. And that's not what we want...

Body positivity in fashion is:

  • Acceptance
  • Taking care of your body
  • Self-love
  • Ability to highlight one's strengths
  • Sense of uniqueness

Great designers and body positivity in fashion

Attempts to create body positivity in fashion were already made in the 1960s and in the 1990s, but without success. But three times lucky and it succeeded, very tentatively at first, around 2010. It is a big credit to the great designers who decided to confront the idealised and somewhat hypocritical reality of female beauty. Plus-size women started to appear on the catwalks, retouching stopped in advertisements and stretch marks became something completely natural and even beautiful. Body-positivity in fashion is promoted by Gucci, Dolce&Gabbana and Hugo Boss, among others. I'm sure you've also seen the Dove ad for the "You are beautiful" campaign. Well, that's what the big designers are saying to us louder and more often: "Dear, you are beautiful".

Body positivity in fashion, lingerie and self-acceptance

That is why at Bouduar we tailor our lingerie to your body and your needs. We prove that even larger curves can look beautiful in lacy lingerie, stockings and bodysuits with deep cut-outs. An example? Seclusion Lace lingerie set whether Press Lace. Well-fitting lingerie highlights what is most beautiful and masks what we want to hide. Just look at body Unique Individuality, which beautifully shapes the bust and buttocks and is also great for challenging styles with an open back.

Probably nothing reveals the authenticity of our bodies more than our underwear. And it is this that is worth looking at more closely. If the underwear is perfectly matched to our figure, we not only look attractive in it, but above all we are aware of it and feel good in it.

And how do you see yourself? Do you look at yourself through the prism of your assets or rather your shortcomings? Do you have trouble accepting your body or are you proud of it? Take care of it as best you can. How about starting with perfectly fitting underwear? In the article How do you choose underwear to suit your figure? you will find practical tips.
