In this article, we focus primarily on the hip and waist area, the measurements of which are extremely important in making the right choice of panties and bottoms. We suggest how to measure the hip circumference so that the measurement is correct. So what are you waiting for? Grab a tape measure, make sure you have some peace and quiet for yourself, have a piece of paper and pencil ready to write down your measurements and here we go!
How do you measure your waist?
Once you have the tape measure in hand we have good news for you. Measuring your waist circumference is very simple. If you have not done it before, you must remember to measure directly on bare skin or in very tight clothing such as a bodysuit. There is one rule - measure your waist at the narrowest point on your torso. Keep your abdomen relaxed during the measurement, do not pull it in or force it out. If you still have doubts about taking measurements, here you can watch an instructional video. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We will be happy to help and answer all your questions.
Is the waist a belt?
For some, yes, but in reality it is not the same. The rule of thumb is simple - the waist is at the level of the navel and the waist is at the narrowest point of the torso. Of course, it may be the same place, but this is not the rule. So make a distinction between these two concepts, because otherwise it is not difficult to get your measurements wrong and thus buy the wrong underwear.
How to measure hip circumference?
How do you measure your hips? The matter is no more complicated than when measuring your waist. You can take the measurement while you are in your underwear, preferably assisted by standing in front of a mirror. Remember that hip circumference is not the same as waist circumference and is not measured at the hip bones. The hip circumference is usually larger than the hipbone circumference. It is taken at the widest point of the bottom. Positioning yourself sideways to the mirror will make it easier for you to measure correctly and judge where your hips and bottom are widest. Don't cheat! The more accurate the measurements you give, the better our knickers and panties will fit you.
What should be the difference between waist and hips?
Are there ideal dimensions at all? For some, it is still 60x90x60 (cm). In reality, it is not about centimetres, but about proportions. Why are they so important? For appearance, of course, but also for health. The ratio of waist circumference to hip circumference is called WHR. It is used to assess the risk of serious diseases, including heart disease or diabetes. The WHR should be as low as possible. We calculate it according to the following formula:
WHR = Waist circumference : Hip circumference
Thus, a WHR of less than 0.85 for women and less than 0.9 for men is considered the correct value, so remember to measure yourself not only for your appearance, but also for your health.

Type of underwear and women's hips
Have you measured yourself at the hips yet? Great. Then it now remains for you to choose the right cut of panties to make those hips look their best.
Are you an owner of wide hips and your figure can be described as "pear-shaped"? Then the best choice for you would be deep-cut bottoms, especially high-waisted ones. They will make your hips look a little narrower.
Do you have an apple-shaped figure and would like to wear underwear that effectively shapes it? Choose high-waisted briefs such as the Cosmic Love.
Or are you an hourglass shape with a well-defined waist and wide hips? Then opt for classic bikini bottoms, such as the Your Narration. Thus, you will expose your beautiful waistline.
How much at the hips is a size M? Hip circumference vs underwear size
The answer is not clear-cut because...it depends. On what? On the manufacturer of the underwear. Everyone has their own sizing, which is why it's so important to check what size corresponds to the width of your hips and waist before buying panties. When it comes to Bouduar, you check your size here. For example, size M corresponds to a waist circumference of 96-100 and the same hip circumference.
